The Tryon Historical Museum would love to have you. Contact us via email or phone. Or just grab one of us off the street!
We are pleased to announce that the Tryon Historical Museum will be reopening Thursday, October 1, 2020. We are free to resume all normal operations so long as we wear masks, practice social distancing, and limit the number of people present at any one time to 15.
As you may know, we are now the official Visitor’s Center for the Town of Tryon. We appreciate the confidence the town has placed in us to fill this important role and invite you to drop by for a visit any time you can.
We are continuing our commitment to telling Tryon’s unique story in the most accurate and imaginative way possible. To this end, we will regularly be updating and improving our presentations and exhibits. This of course includes our ever-popular Tales of Tryon series. The first talk of our 2021 season is presently scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 5:30 PM at the Tryon Depot. Please note the new location.
The Tales will be held the third Wednesday of every month through November, always preceded by a 4:30 reception sponsored by the Polk County Community Foundation’s Free Public Events Program. Mark your calendars now.
We want to involve the entire community in our activities and events. Won’t you help us tell Tryon’s story by becoming a member today? Membership is $35 annually for individuals and $50 for families. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the museum!
